Philippine Airlines negotiations
Tuesday, August 23, 2011—John A. Burgwinkel, Secretary to Negotiations
Your committee has met with the company three times; once in May, again in June, and in August. The first two meetings were in San Francisco and the last meeting was held in Manila. The company submitted twelve proposals and your committee submitted thirty six proposals from the membership.
We have addressed all of the company’s proposals, and are presently trying to address your proposals.
Unfortunately, the company is preoccupied with the spin-off of Airport, catering and reservations in the Philippines, like we did in the 80’s, 90’s and in 2006. Due to the fact that the Collective Bargaining Agreement is not ratified, the company cannot implement its proposals.
Therefore, all employees who experience any reduction in medical insurance coverage need to file a grievance immediately, to recover any and all costs associated with any change the company has implemented.
Please see your respective Chief Union Steward for grievance forms and assistance in submitting your grievance form.
