A. The West will continue to pay the 2007 insurance premiums for the

groups will be covered under the existing CBA rates.
Q. Why do East field agents and West agents have to wait 7 months for
their pay?
A. the negotiating committee bargained for an immediate pay transition;
however the company claimed it needed the ability to absorb the financial
impact over a graduated period. The 7 months was the lowest transition the
committee was able to obtain.
Q. What happens if this Agreement is not ratified?
A. The Company has stated they will not negotiate any further enhancements
to the current CBA. They will only offer a straight transition agreement
bringing the West to The CBA. The Union would request further meetings
however there is no requirement under the law to force the company to
negotiate.
Q. Why can’t the Union pursue Section 6 under the old TWU Agreement.
A. We are now one airline operating under a single carrier status and
single union certification. Both the Flight Attendants and Pilots
attempted to pursue Section 6 bargaining with the NMB and were recessed
permanently; we should anticipate the same.
Q. In the event of a straight Transition Agreement does District 141
Bylaws or the IAM Constitution require a vote?
A. No. The East Agreement is the surviving agreement, and If no changes or
amendments occur then no vote is required under the Bylaws or IAM
